You will have fun trying a human crochet hair quick weave with YWIGS crochet hair if you are curious about it! In today's post, I will share the honest things you need to know. This includes everything from installation to disassembly about my experience.
Whether you are a beginner or an expert, here is what I learned. I will share both the easy parts and the challenges to help you achieve this look.
Right out of the pack, YWIGS crochet hair is serving major thickness! I used about two and a half packs of hair for a full, voluminous install.
Each pack includes two bundles.
The hair was easy to comb through and felt super thick and lush.
Good news: You can absolutely reuse this hair!

This crochet hair comes pre-threaded for easy installation, but there’s a catch:
I struggled with hiding the string that connects the crochet hair.
Pro tip: Leave a little bit of your natural hair out to cover the crochet string for a more natural look.
String visibility was less than other brands, but it’s still there if you're not careful.
I alternated pulling hair from different sides to balance the fullness.
By the second pack, my shoulder was hurting (relatable, right?), but the hair was filling in beautifully — giving real bundle vibes!
I used a root touch-up spray to hide visible parts and gaps.
A melt band (scarf) helped flatten everything down.
After finishing my makeup and letting the style set, the final look was chef’s kiss — cute, natural, and ready for a full day and night out.
Pro Tip:
Old, slightly frizzy cornrows work better for this style! If your cornrows are too fresh and crispy, it might be harder to hide the crochet knots.
My hair survived the night — but the takedown was work!
Even after loosening my cornrows, removing the crochet hair was tough and time-consuming.
I tried not to cut the hair, but honestly, cutting would have saved a lot of time and prevented pulling my natural hair.
Important Note:
Even if you cut the crochet string during takedown, you can still reuse the hair for styles like boho knotless braids!
YGWIGS crochet hair is a great choice if you're looking for:

But be prepared:
➔ Installation takes patience (especially hiding the string).
➔ Takedown is easier if you just commit to cutting the crochet threads.
Would I do it again? Absolutely — but next time, I'm cutting that string without hesitation!
